Our Planning teacher organized an activity about making western desserts by ourselves. I joined this activity because I am always fond of making food. Not only is the process of making food interesting, but tasting the products also a fantastic enjoyment.
The time and location of this activity was on 11th of April, from 9 to 11 am. Our group members were Winona, Peter, me and students from other classes. Our group’s task was making pancakes and our leading teacher was Ms. Hadley.
First we followed the instructions to mix all the materials of correct amount in order. Then the most exciting time came, which was actually cooking them. However, we did not make the real pancakes that day, the problems we faced made each of us very sad and frustrated. At the beginning, we found the pot of us is made of aluminum, it cannot conduct heat well. We waited and waited until another group to finish their cooking. An hour past and finally one group completed their tasks successfully. With a little jealous, we hurried up and try to cook our precious and valuable pancakes. This pot could conduct heat well, but however, we realized the mixture of pancake materials stuck on the bottom of the pot and could not move. When Ms.Hadley announced we could not make the real pancakes that day, all of our group members including me were silent. The mixture in front of us which we made carefully more than carefully became worthless. Our time and effort was wasted. All of us went home in a terrible mood. Fortunately, on another day, after our meticulous thinking and preparing, we did make the pancakes successfully.
That is my entire pancake story, not as interesting as I had before. This complicated experience let me think of a Chinese idiom called”No rain, no rainbow.” which means we will have a hard time before the good results coming.
