In Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition

Wendy Jolin and I went to the Provincial Art Gallery which was on JuJiang Road at 3:30 pm on March the 8th. We decided to go there because there was a Chinese calligraphy exhibition there so we could appreciate very much, the second reason was we first had lunch in 1912 and the Provincial Art Gallery was the nearest gallery from there.
The title of the exhibition was “The Calligraphy Exhibition Of Electric Power Company”. I found the most interesting artwork was a passage written by Liu YuXi who was a very famous poet in the ancient time of China. The passage named “The Compliment Of My Ugly House” used to be our Chinese text in the middle school, it was also one of the texts that teachers asked us to recite, so I hated it a lot at that time. However, saw that passage at that moment in the exhibition, so many memories jumped out of my mind. Looked at it again, I found the moral of poem was really profound and the calligraphy was so beautiful and elegant and even made me felt proud of my own country.
I was really attracted to the exhibition deeply because now I am a student in a Canadian school, during the school time, we should speak English and write in English letters. All this seemed that English is more important than our mandarin, but after the visiting of this exhibition, the perfect Chinese calligraphy reminded me that our homeland was and also is a brilliant strong country with varied spirited culture.
This is an interesting and meaningful short ship, I enjoyed it and also benefited a lot from it.

A fantastic dinner in Round Table

On the night of February the 28th, Wendy and I went to the Round Table Restaurant for dinner, it is a European restaurant and on the road of 1912.We went there together at about 6 pm. Wendy chose that restaurant for us because it is not far away from both the school dormitory (Wendy lives in the dormitory) and my home.
I ate a piece of cake which was so sweet and smooth, a steak with flowers beside, a glass of fresh juice, a fragrant soup of mushroom, a shrimp salad and a cup of cocktail which was free and turned my face very red and hot immediately. Well, I liked all the things I ordered because they were clear and tasty. I like most of the western food, they are different from Chinese food because we usually eat rice, several dishes and a soup, in contrast, the western food always have bread, steak vegetables, cakes and soups.
The environment was fantastic there, all the tables and chairs were beautiful and special with very long back nearly reaching the ceiling. The atmosphere there gave me the deepest impress because a lady and a gentleman took turns to sing melodious songs for us, their voice was so nice that made me very relaxed and comfortable. The customers there were almost lovers or friends, spent long time chanting and laughing. The service was the best I have ever seen in my life, the waiters and waitresses were so elegant and polite and can remember which guest ordered what in one table clearly, and that was the reason why they charged for 10 RMB tip of each customer.
I will recommend other people to eat there if they can afford it, all the things there were so great except the price was a little high for the lowest consumption there is 108 RMB which is pretty high for the students like us.
