A meal in western restaurant——Tacos

December 31st, Bill, ]olin, Cindy, Frank Huang, Kevin, Jack, Jordan, Allen and I went to Tacos on Zhujiang road and on the top floor of the Golden Eagle Shopping Mall with several grade 12 mentors. We begin to order until everybody arrived at half past six and we had a wonderful time on the last day of year 2008.
I ate a piece of chocolate cake and Korean Fried Chicken spicybaan sauce with rice. I enjoy the meal a lot because the chocolate cake tasted smooth and sweet and Korean Fried Chicken spicybaan sauce with rice was so delicious because of a kind of special spice.
We chose Tacos because the food there is delicious, cheap and the environment is very good. The environment was clean and quiet, all kinds of decorations created an atmosphere of harmonious and comfort. A Chinese meal always has many dishes for us to chose but have a western meal is to eat a whole thing which add many other ingredients. There are many youths and couples there but the services was not so good that time. Bill’s pizza didn’t come until everyone finished their meals. I think it was a small mistake because there were too many people and too much food of our table.
However, the whole impression the restaurant gave me was good and I would recommend couples or old friends to have dinner there because they can spend a long time there chatting

Critique of my favorite artwork

On December 4th, our class went to the Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Gallery of Nanjing University.
The title of favorite artwork is and the artist of this artwork is Wu Weishan from Nanjing University. The artwork was made in 1998, the whole shape is a little boy’s head, the outline is very soft and smooth, it is made of bronze and looks brown.
The subject of the artwork is a little boy who is sleeping deeply, his head is a little raised, eyes are closed and mouth is open, it looks as though he is breathing with his mouth and I can even feel his breath, few hair on the top of his head and only one ear can be seen, looks very lovely.
After the first glimpse, I can feel the Chinese culture and traditions because of the color brown, soft shape and bronze texture of the artwork. Chinese paintings always focus on the mood of a literary work not the appearance and Chinese sculptures also developed along this path. Mr. Wu Weishan realizes this and captures the person’s demeanor and spirit, not the pursuit of the mechanical realism. Looking at the sculpture more carefully, the boy who is sleeping just appears before my eyes lively and it makes me recall some common things that can be seen in our daily lives. For example, on the buses or on the streets some mothers hold the babies to the bosoms, the babies’ expressions just like the sculpture shows to us, nobody can disturb them and they just immerse themselves in the sweet dreams.
Artist Mr. Wu Weishan recorded the most wonderful moment by his hands, it is very meaningful and I think he is speaking highly of little children are the loveliest things in the world, they are kind and innocent, they show us true emotions of people from the deepest hearts. These years in society, many bad events break out and there is always a barrier between people’s hearts, true love is very precious and hard for people to find. As teenagers, we should give the most sincere love to anybody around us just like little children, this will benefit us in our whole lives and it is good for creating a harmonious world.
There is another reason that I love this artwork. The artwork gives me a happy and free feeling from the sleeping little boy. Everybody has childhood, it is the happiest time we experienced, no homework, no money problems and no social relations. We just do whatever we want, laugh or cry whenever we want. This artwork reminds me I also used to have a period of wonderful time that is free from care.
In conclusion, I love this artwork and I think it should be appreciated by people all around the world, they must have the same feelings as mine.

(Thanks Ms. Bartell and Ms. Hadley for arranging this visiting)
